Bill Lamberts is a professor in the Biology Department at the College of St. Benedict/St. John's University. His expertise is in the field of ecology, specifically the ecology of lakes. He teaches Aquatic Ecology and mentors students in research investigating the interactions among members of the planktonic communities.
Dr. Lamberts is active in both Environmental Studies and Asian Studies programs at CSB/SJU. He is a member of the Environmental Studies Advisory Council and teaches several courses for the ES major. In 2002 he directed the CSB/SJU study abroad program in Beibei, Chongqing, China, and in 2010 directed the program in Tokyo, Japan. He has worked with students from Southwest University in Beibei through the China Summer Research Exchange Program, and directed that program in 2008. In spring of 2011 he co-taught the course “Sustainability in Asia” with Dr. Li Changxiao, who was visiting from Southwest University.
Dr. Lamberts earned a B.S. in biology from Houghton College, and a PhD in ecology from the University of Minnesota.
